NA3HL releases the rosters, schedule, and coaches for the 2021 Top Prospects Tournament in April

DALLAS, TX., April 13, 2021 — The rosters and schedule have been announced by the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) for the 2021 Top Prospects Tournament that will be held on Sunday and Monday (April 18-19, 2021) in conjunction with the 2021 NA3HL Fraser Cup (National) Tournament that is taking place from April 15-19. 2021. Both events are being hosted in St. Peters, Missouri at the St. Peters Rec Plex for the first time this season.

The two-day Top Prospects Tournament (TPT), which this year offers FREE Admission, attracts many scouts including those from the NCAA, North American Hockey League (NAHL) and American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) ranks that are expected to be in attendance.

The events will be held in cooperation with the first of five 2021 NAHL Combines.  the NAHL Combines, entering their seventh season, introduce and provide players with a weekend that involves the ‘NAHL Experience,’ which will consist of competitive hockey, education of the future levels of hockey, academic preparation for NCAA hockey and exposure to professional, college and junior scouts.

This year, the teams will not be comprised of the five divisions that make up the NA3HL like in years past rather they will have four teams with the following names with mixed rosters: Team Krampade, Team K1, Team Apex, and Team Bauer. Each of the TPT teams (88 players and eight coaches total) will each play two games with each squad having 22 players (13 forwards, 7 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders) along with a head coach and an assistant coach. Respective head coaches nominated any players that were considered for the prestigious event.

The NA3HL’s Frontier Division will be represented by two coaches including Great Falls Americans head coach Greg Sears, who will be the head coach of Team Bauer and former Great Falls Americans Assistant Coach and current head coach of the Gillette (WY) Wild, Ethan Hayes will be assisting El Paso Rhinos Head Coach Vinny Bohn on Team K1. Greg Sears was excited about getting selected to coach at the Top Prospects Tournament. “It’s always an honor to get to be a part of the Top Prospects (Tournament). It is a great event and I look forward to working with players from around the league.”

The Frontier Division will have a total 22 players spread throughout the four teams competing in the ‘all-star like” event including five from the Great Falls Americans, four from the Gillette (WY) Wild (Carson Kuche, Tristan Baker, Brock Trboyevich, Declan Young), three each from the Missoula Junior Bruins (Kieran Christianson, Jacob Saenger, Mi-Kwan Tallman), Helena Bighorns (Harlan Wojtusik, Andrew Deskin, Anthony Adleman), and the Bozeman Ice Dogs (Kadyn Fennell, Tanner Klockzo, Blake Nerney), two each from the Butte Cobras (Nick Bradshaw and Luke Schlensner) and the Yellowstone Quake (Dylan Rumpke and Austin Lawless).

The Great Falls Americans will be sending goaltender Trever Mellen, forwards Henry Chavez and Alex Jackson and defensemen, Tommy Janes and Tyler Lorring to Missouri Janes and Jackson will be on Team Krampade coached by Peoria Mustangs head coach Steve Ortman, Lorring and Chavez will be teammates on Team Apex coached by Willmar WarHawks head mentor Kirk Olimb and Trever Mellen will be on Americans head coach Greg Sears’ squad on Team Bauer.

“All five of our guys are very deserving,” said Great Falls Americans Head Coach and General Manager, Greg Sears. “Each one is still uncommitted for next season and this will be a great opportunity to showcase their abilities to the college coaches in attendance.”
