Great Falls Americans goalie Drew Scites will be joining former Americans teammate Payton McSharry this fall when they play hockey at Iowa State University, the Americans announced Thursday.
Scites, a native of Plymouth, Minn., joined the Americans after a trade with the North Iowa Bulls, and had a 22-8-1 record with a GAA of 1.96 during the 2018-19 NA3HL Frontier Division season, and went 3-3 in the playoffs.
The 21-year-old Scites swatted away 76 of the 78 shots on goal he faced during the 2018 Top Prospects Tournament in Plymouth. He was named to the All-Frontier Division team and the All-NA3HL first team.
