The Great Falls Ice Plex (http://www.gf-ice.org) is the home venue for the Great Falls Americans Junior A Hockey Team (USA Hockey sanctioned Junior A Tier III team) that competes in a eight team league in the North American 3 Hockey League that plays from the end of September until March of every year.
The ice facility opened in November 2008 and has a seating capacity of around 1,500. The Great Falls Americans began as an expansion team during their 2011-2012 inaugural season originally part of the Northern Pacific Hockey League. The Americans were voted the 2012-13 AWHL Organization of the Year because of their dramatic turnaround in 2011-12 (1-48 record) to a much improved 16-30-2 record in 2012-13.

2016-2017 Record: 41-5-3-3 (including playoffs: 2-0 series win over Gillette, 2-1 series loss to Yellowstone)
2017-2018 Record: 34-11-2-0 (including playoffs: 0-1-1 series loss to Helena)
2018-2019 Record: 38-8-0-1 (including playoffs: 2-1 series win over Bozeman, 2-1 series loss to Helena)
*2019-2020 Record: 33-9-4-1 (including playoffs: 2-0 series win over Helena, CANCELLED vs. Sheridan)

The facility also plays host to a variety of different youth, women and men’s hockey leagues, open skating , a “Learn to Skate” program and Eagle Mount uses the Ice Plex for sled hockey as well as many other events including the famed Casey Cup hockey tournament in February. The Great Falls Ice Plex is located on Gore Hill behind The Flying J and Denny’s Restaurant at 4001 29th Street Southwest The facility is located several miles from the downtown area near the Great Falls International Airport.
- From the North: Take I-15 south to Airport/31st St. SW (exit 277). Turn left on 31st St. SW and proceed south a short distance to 38th Ave. SW (just past Flying J). Turn left on 38th Ave. SW and proceed a short distance to the Ice Plex.
- From the South (Helena): Take I-15 north approx. 90 miles to Airport/31st St. SW (exit 277). Turn right on 31st St. SW and proceed south a short distance to 38th Ave. SW (just past Flying J). Turn left on 38th Ave. SW and proceed a short distance to the Ice Plex.
