Bryan Sharp posted a shutout, stopping all 24 of the Bozeman Icedogs shots throughout the game. The Great Falls Americans took the lead early in the first on a goal from Payton Mcsharry and never looked back.
Michael Houlihan had a busy night with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Matt Janke did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).
In the first, Mcsharry opened the scoring for the Americans with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:33 with a helper from his teammate Fary. Houlihan deposited a goal at 7:23 with helpers from his linemates, Janke and Goodman. Janke netted a goal at 17:05 with assists from Truex and Thomas.
In the second period, Houlihan put in a goal at 10:25 with assists from his linemates, Rath and Goodman. Parker scored a goal at 16:56 with a helper from his defensive partner, Thomas. Braxton quickly followed with a goal at 17:53 with assists from Janke and Truex. Truex quickly followed with a goal at 18:45 with a helper from fellow Americans forward Goodman.
In the third period, Rinckey put in a goal at 16:44 with assists from Braxton and Houlihan.
Great Falls’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Sharp’s shutout, as he stopped all 24 of the shots he faced. Sharp’s counterpart, Carlson, also had a big night, managing to stop 34 of 39, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Great Falls Americans’ record to (34-11-2-0).
