The Americans crushed the Wild 5-2

The Great Falls Americans' offense had a big night, peppering the Gillette Wild with 40 shots throughout the game. The Great Falls Americans took the lead early in the second on a goal from Janke Matt.

Thomas Kody contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Rath Tanner did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Mitzel opened the scoring for Gillette with a goal at 1:35 with helpers from his linemates, Oberg and Thompson. Newsome netted a goal at 9:19 with a helper from Eastep. Jens quickly followed with a goal at 10:39 with an assist from his teammate Tanner. Kody quickly followed with a goal at 11:43.

During the second, Matt put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:39 with assists from Adam and Goodman. Tanner deposited a goal at 7:42 with a helper from his linemate Jens.

In the third, Payton scored a goal at 6:01 with an assist from Kody.

Great Falls’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Willey’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced. Willey’s counterpart, Lachance, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 40, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Great Falls Americans’ record to (4-0-1-0).
