Congdon's hat trick helped the Americans crush the Wild 6-2

Tanner Congdon led the way with a hat trick as the Great Falls Americans crushed the Gillette Wild 6-2 in a home game at Spirit Ice Arena in Great Falls. As well, the Great Falls Americans' offense had a big night, peppering Gillette with 26 shots throughout the game. The Great Falls Americans took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Payton Mcsharry.

Payton Mcsharry contributed with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Brendan Jester did his part, adding 3 assists. Kyle Truax chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Nick Stockert delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Congdon opened the scoring for Great Falls with a goal at 7:15 with helpers from his teammates Mcsharry and Vibans. Congdon deposited a goal at 16:15 with helpers from his linemates, Harrington and Bushey.

During the second, Mcsharry put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:34 with assists from his linemates, Congdon and Jester. Truax finally put Gillette on the board with a goal at 12:47 with a helper from Stockert.

In the third, Fary answered for Great Falls with a goal at 2:55 with an assist from fellow Americans forward Vandenbos. Congdon quickly followed with a goal at 4:30 with a helper from his linemate Jester. Stockert quickly followed with a goal at 6:08 with an assist from Truax. Mcsharry quickly followed with a goal at 7:20 with helpers from his linemates, Congdon and Jester.

The Americans’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Nast as he stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced. On the other hand, Nast’s counterpart, Riley, and Gillette’s defense has seen better nights allowing 3 goals in 13 shots.

This win brings the Great Falls Americans’ record to (40-4-2-3)
